The aim of the Community Project is to support, link and document community initiatives as a means of increasing their ability and confidence to articulate their own concerns and issues.
Every few months STT invites various communities to meet together in an informal setting and have time to discuss issues and share ideas. It may involve visiting one particular community and seeing, for example, a local eco-tourism project or meeting with villagers facing housing issues. In this way community members have an opportunity to air ideas and problems and to listen to what is happening in other communities. Instead of a more formal workshop or training atmosphere these Community Exchanges allow members to share ideas ‘on the ground’.
