Facts & Figures #25, entitled Boeung Tompun Lake: Future Unknown, provides detailed information about the role Boeung Tompun Lake plays in Phnom Penh and outlines how development projects in the area have led to grave environmental concerns. 5 residents in the area share their case stories and reveal how Boeung Tompun provides many benefits such as producing employment opportunities and acting as a natural reservoir. Currently issues with the development projects include filling the lake with sand which has led to increased flooding, waterborne diseases, transportation barriers, and unaffordable housing rates.
