The Urban Poor Community Rallied To Support Their Members At Court.

On April 21, 2014, around 8:30am, there were about 60 community residents from Borei Keila (BK), Boeung Kak (BKL) and other communities, gathered outside the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, to support hearing of the 7 residents from BK including Mrs. Prum Pech and her colleagues who summoned by prosecutor of Phnom Penh Municipal Court for questioning, regarding to her filed the complaint to Khan 7 Makara about the local authorities using the violence on BK residents on March 14, 2014 when the community attempted to move to building number 9 at BK.
During the rally, the community were holding banners with loudspeakers called for court must be independence and be justice.
About 100 riot police and undercover police were deployed during the protest, but no clash occurred were reported during the protest.
