On January 17th, 2017 Nirot Beoung Chhouk is excited to start to implement their project build a wooden bridge that attended by many people in the community.
Nirot Beoung Chhouk is one among five communities that has passed the proposal applied for sub-grant scheme to build a wooden bridge 82 meters’ length and 2 meters’ widths for strengthen their land security and livelihood Improvement.
The sub-grants scheme is a part of the Human Rights Based Spatial Planning Phase II activities funded by European Union and Czech Development Agency. The project aim is to support Civil Society, urban poor communities and local authorities in developing win-win spatial solutions in the areas under threat of eviction and support peaceful land conflict resolution in Phnom Penh. This project is implemented by four NGO partners – People in Need (PIN), Sahmakum Teang Tnaut (STT), Open Institute (OI), and Urban Poor Women for Development (UPWD).
