STT Launches UNDEF-Funded Project “Cultivating Human and Environmental Rights in the Kingdom of Cambodia”

Sahmakum Teang Tnaut Organization (STT) is pleased to announce the launch of the project “Cultivating Human and Environmental Rights in the Kingdom of Cambodia,” funded by the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF). The project will be implemented over 18 months, June 2026 to May 2028.

The project aims to empower approximately 4,000 residents (around 890 households), with a particular focus on women and marginalized groups, across 20 urban communities in Phnom Penh. The project seeks to strengthen community capacity to secure land tenure and promote fair compensation processes and sustainable living conditions.

Mr. Soeung Saran, the Executive Director of STT said “through community and youth capacity-building initiatives, advocacy efforts, and constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders, the project will promote meaningful citizen participation, strengthen accountability, and support peaceful and equitable solutions to land and housing challenges. The project also aims to contribute to the adoption of community-informed environmental safeguards and improved governance practices”.

STT sincerely appreciates the generous support of the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) in making this initiative possible. This support will enable STT to provide greater assistance to vulnerable urban communities and further advance its mission of promoting land tenure security and inclusive urban development.
